2024 Player Evaluations, MUST READ!!!!

The 2024 baseball season is fast approaching and we wanted to share some additional info and dates with all of you.

Our last winter clinic will be next Saturday February 24th, please see the times and signup links on our website under the Event Dates tab. It has been a lot of fun to see the players come in the past 2 weekends to get ready for the season, have some fun and start working on some baseball already. Please join us if you can and be sure to sign up early as there is limited space available at the clinic.

Player evaluations (tryouts) will be Saturday March 2nd at First and Third Indoor Baseball Facility at 11416 N Carisa Court in Hayden.

ALL PLAYERS LEAGUE AGE 8 AND OLDER MUST ATTEND A PLAYER EVALUATION SESSION.

This is based on your players little league age, not their current age so please be sure to check this link to confirm your players little league age - Little League Age finder.

Evaluations will be broken down by age as follows:
11am - 8 year old's (any 7 year old's wishing to "play up" a division will need to attend)
noon - 9 year old's
1pm - 10 year old's
2pm - 11 year old's
3pm - 12 year old's
4pm - 13 - 15 year old's

Please show up 5 minutes early to sign in. Players will need to bring a glove and a bat and batting helmet if they have one. We will have bats and helmets for players who need them. No CLEATS ALLOWED as this is indoors. If you have not been to First and Third previously you will need to sign a waiver so we need all parents to please come inside to sign their player in for evaluations. There is a viewing area upstairs that parents can wait and watch - no parents will be allowed downstairs during evaluations.

Make up Player evaluations will be held on Monday March 4th at First and Third Indoor Baseball Facility as follows:
5pm - 8 and 9 year old's
6pm - 10 to 12 year old's
7pm - 13 to 15 year old's

If you cannot make it to either of the player evaluations please email us to let us know and see about possible other arrangements so we can properly place your player at the correct division for them.

Once player evaluations are completed teams will be drafted and formed by mid-March with coaches and the league sending out notification of which team your player has been placed on. We place players on teams based on the evaluations and coaches determination of where we feel they will fit best and have the best experience while also challenging them to grow as baseball players. If you have questions about where your player may be placed please reach out to us to discuss.

Opening Day
We are planning for Opening Day on Saturday April 20th at Croffoot Park (which is where most if not all practices and games will be held as well). We will have an opening ceremony to introduce teams and players and make it a fun day to kick off our season. This will also be picture day for our league for both individual player pictures and team pictures. We will send out a more detailed schedule for the day once teams are announced. There will be several Field Days leading up to Opening day to get our baseball fields ready for practices and games.

The fields we use at Croffoot Park are some of the best in the whole state so we ask for parent help with field maintenance to keep them that way and get them ready for the season. Once we send out these dates please plan to come help us get our fields ready.

Coaching
We are looking for volunteers to be coaches, as you likely know or will hear with all Little League's that we are an all volunteer organization so we ask parents to help out with all the roles we need to have a baseball season including coaches. If you are willing and able to help coach your player's team please let us know. We are in need of coaches at all levels and cannot finish forming teams and sending out team assignments without coaches for each team so please let us know if you are able to help with this, the more parents willing to help out makes it much easier for everyone involved.

Team Volunteers
There are also many other opportunities that we need volunteers for like umpires, team parents, scorekeepers, pitch count - there are up to 10 volunteer roles needed at each game so we ask all parents to help out and volunteer during the season to make this a great and fun experience for your players.

Team Sponsors
There are team sponsorships still available, if you own or know of a business that might be willing to sponsor a team please let us know and we will contact them with details. Through local business sponsorships they not only get to advertise their business to all of our families but it helps out with keeping registration costs low and to help provide scholarships to families in need so everyone can participate. Please email us with any questions.

Thank you,
Your Hayden Little League board
